July 16 2016 at Disjecta for DUG
This was DUG x Disjecta: Diaspora. From the Facebook event:
On July 16 2016, Deep Under Ground (DUG) will be presenting its third quarterly music & arts event at Disjecta Contemporary Arts Center. From 6:00pm-11:30pm, the DUG Collective will be showcasing a multitude of art mediums from Portland based artists: Mic Capes, Amenta Bodunde Abioto, POPgoji, Jamaaliz Jamjam Roberts +more! Themed around the Diaspora and displacement of communities, we will not only be exploring what it means to be displaced, but how to heal, connect, & make our people stronger through the arts & efforts put forth towards understanding of the backgrounds we all come from. Not appropriating culture but really diving in to learn and respect one another’s differences.
Deep Under Ground is an arts collective currently based in Portland Oregon. This collective strives to recreate the feelings of love, positivity, and unity that are needed to harvest and facilitate the creativity of a sacred community. The DUG community produces activism through arts and creative outlets such as open mics, art mixers, visual & performance art showcases, and more.
Remember, it ain’t about nobody but everybody! See July 16th @ DISJECTA
