This Saxophone Kills Fascists
This Saxophone Kill Fascists was an experimental free jazz project inspired by Woody Guthrie’s This Machine Kills Fascists guitar. The project was led by musician Arrington de Dionyso, whose mural at Comet Ping Pong made him a target of Pizzagate conspiracy theorists. When I saw the project perform, it was billed as These Drums, Saxophones, Bagpipes, and Violins Kill Fascists and featured de Dionyso on the eponymous fascist-killing tenor saxophone joined by Sam Klickner on percussion, Keelin B. Mayer on tenor saxophone, China Faith Star on soprano saxophone, New Zealand’s David Watson on bagpipes, John Krasbauer, Lisa Schonberg, Sara Lund, and Fred Nemo.
